Majestic Theatre - San Antonio
The Majestic Theatre is a historical motion picture theatre, built in 1929. The theater continues to operate today providing Broadway theatre tours, concerts, and comedy shows to San Antonio.
I’ve never had a bad experience here. The theatre is of reasonable size and every seat, although small, seems like it would provide for a decent view. If you are looking for the best seats try to sit either Left Center or Right Center Orchestra and forward of the mezzanine overhang.
A few things to consider:
1. Parking downtown is limited so give yourself ample time to find a parking space in the adjacent city parking structure or around the area if it becomes full. (MidCity Garage – http://www.sanantonio….)
2. People like to dress up when going to this theatre even if it’s a matinee, not opening night or a benefit. People seemed to be more casual when I was in Los Angeles, think Pantages or Ahmanson theatres, in comparison.
3. There are decent restaurants around here, but it’s a good idea to have a reservation especially during a theatre event. The Majestic is near the Riverwalk, so it’s already difficult enough with all the tourists and business people downtown.
